I really wanted to believe that Plaxo was "doing the right thing". But I kept getting "html-only" email from them, a sure spammer-sign. So I asked them to start including a "text/plain" alternative to their mail, so that it wouldn't immediately be round-canned for me. Here's their reply:
I would like to inform you that all Plaxo alerts and communications are scripted based on the HTML. However, if you wish to view your Plaxo weekly updates or Plaxo alerts appropriately then you need to enable the HTML format in your email client as we do not support text-only or plain payload.
OK, I just got this spam, that begins in the typical way, but with this interesting twist:
I boggled at the words after Spain. Are they trying to distinguish this Spain from some other Spain? Or are they simply catering to Americans that have no clue where Spain might be?
