Curse Steve Jobs. He's made me break my perfect record (until this week) of never having owned an x86 box (regardless of whether Intel or AMD made the CPU). I'm the proud owner of a shiny 17" Macbook Pro with the Intel Core 2 Duo (isn't that "4"?). I've spent a few days downloading and recompiling various locally installed items. However, that's been a breeze. 11 minutes to recompile GNU Emacs from Source into a Carbon Mac version, instead of the 70 minutes on my Powerbook G4. Whee!
